You could be 7-Eleven's landlord in Germantown

If you have $4 million burning a hole in your pocket, you could take a Big Bite out of Germantown real estate. The land underneath the 7-Eleven convenience store and gas station at 12861 Clopper Road has hit the market for sale. You would become the landlord for 7-Eleven under this triple net lease (NNN) arrangement. The online sale listing offers some interesting facts about this 7-Eleven, such as its status in the 91st-percentile of customer traffic for the brand among all 7-Eleven stores in the United States, that 321,000 customers have patronized this 7-Eleven in the last 12 months, and that the store has about 5.5 years left on its current lease.

7-Eleven Slurpee Day 2023 means a free small Slurpee today, July 11

Today is July 11, and 7/11 is...no longer 7-Eleven Day. The convenience store chain has rebranded today as Slurpee Day, because it is running the promotion across three different chains it now controls: 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes. Despite the new name, the game is still the same: You can get a free small Slurpee today at all three stores, which in the case of Montgomery County really just means 7-Eleven.

7-Eleven is offering two other bonuses for Slurpee Day this year. Select fresh food items will be sold for $1 through the 7REWARDS program, including pizza slices, STUFDCAKES cupcakes, and the legendary Big Bite Hot Dog. And, if you are lucky, your nearest 7-Eleven store will also have three limited-edition Slurpee flavors: Sprite Lymonade Legacy, Summertime Citrus, and Fanta Dragon Fruit Zero Sugar.

Germantown-area 7-Eleven stores getting new hot food/coffee bar design

Six 7-Eleven stores in Germantown, and one in Montgomery Village, are getting a remodeled hot food and coffee bar area. The stores are located at 13001 Wisteria Drive, 20510 Frederick Road, 18701 Liberty Mill Road, 19412 Walter Johnson Road, 12301 Middlebrook Road, 9051 Snouffer School Road, and 19700 Frederick Road.

I attempted to contact 7-Eleven's corporate office to learn more details about whether the new design represents a national remodeling effort being rolled out first in certain areas. 7-Eleven has sought to bring attention to their expanding fresh food options, as Wawa and Sheetz have made strong inroads with made-to-order hot foods. 7-Eleven has been known more for pre-heated foods like hot dogs that are already ready to purchase when the customer arrives.

A 7-Eleven spokesperson declined to comment at this time. Perhaps Germantown will be one of the first to see something new!
