The new Starbucks at Kentlands Square looks almost ready to open. Signage, furniture and counters are in place, the drive-thru has been paved, and even the patio is ready-to-go. Gaithersburg's newest Starbucks is in the Lowe's parking lot area of the retail center.

Montgomery County police responded to a call reporting a 2nd degree assault in Germantown Monday. The assault took place in a parking lot in the 12400 block of Hickory Tree Way around 6:58 PM, according to crime data.

Gaithersburg fumbles Amazon jobs

Amazon won't be building a distribution center in Gaithersburg at the Leidos site after all, the Washington Business Journal reports. Resistance to the logistics center use of the land by city officials has now deep-sixed the whole plan. The retail giant will pursue distribution centers elsewhere in the region. This is the second time Montgomery County has lost Amazon jobs in as many years; in 2018, Amazon soundly rejected Montgomery County's bid for the even more lucrative Amazon HQ2.

Car stolen in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen car in Germantown yesterday morning. The vehicle was taken from a residential parking lot in the 12800 block of Fairchild Drive. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 5:00 PM Sunday evening and 8:00 AM Monday morning.

Armed robbery in Gaithersburg

City of Gaithersburg police responded to a report of an armed robbery on Friday evening. The robbery was reported at a residential parking lot in the unit block of S. Frederick Avenue around 6:15 PM. According to crime data, the weapon used was not a gun.
