Car stolen from apartment complex in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at an apartment complex in Germantown yesterday, May 25, 2026. The vehicle was parked outside of a building in the 13400 block of Daventry Way. Police believe the vehicle was taken sometime between 7:00 PM Sunday night, and 1:00 AM Monday morning. They say that the owner "accidentally left the keys inside" the vehicle.

Ransacking thieves hit jackpot in Gaithersburg parking garage

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle inside a parking garage in Gaithersburg yesterday morning, May 3, 2026. Police reviewed surveillance camera footage from a parking garage in the 10100 block of Washingtonian Boulevard, and saw two suspects breaking into and ransacking cars for any valuables between 4:00 AM and 4:21 AM. When the suspects found one of the vehicles' owners had left the keys inside, they proceeded to start the car and steal it. Police have not released images of the suspects as of this writing. 

Motorcycle stolen from home in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen motorcycle in Germantown on February 20, 2026. The motorcycle was stolen from a residential parking lot in the 18200 block of Smoke House Court sometime between 10:00 PM on February 19, and 4:20 AM on February 20, police believe. That is at the Pleasant Fields townhome community off of Mateny Road.

Stolen car discovered in Clarksburg High School parking lot

A stolen vehicle was found in the parking lot at Clarksburg High School at 22500 Wims Road. According to police, the vehicle had been stolen in Rockville on December 31, 2025. The car was unoccupied when it was discovered at the school. Rockville City police describe the suspect who stole the vehicle, which had been left unattended with the engine running in the 800 block of Rockville Pike on New Year's Eve, only as a Hispanic male of unknown age.

Montgomery County police make arrest in Damascus auto theft

A vehicle was stolen from the 26700 block of Ridge Road in Damascus around 9:20 PM on August 25, 2025. It was recovered the same evening by Montgomery County police. John Anthony Torres, 30, of Damascus was arrested the following day, and charged with felony auto theft and misdemeanor rogue and vagabond. He was released on a $400 percentage bond after bail was set at $4000. A trial has been scheduled for October 10 in Montgomery County District Court in Rockville.

Multiple vehicles stolen from Mr. 301 Auto Sales in Montgomery Village

Multiple vehicles were stolen from the Mr. 301 Auto Sales dealership at 8061 Snouffer School Road in Montgomery Village in the early morning hours of July 22, 2024, Montgomery County police report. Officers responding to the scene found evidence of forced entry at the business. Car keys had been taken from inside the dealership, and were apparently used to start and steal several cars on the lot.

One of the stolen cars was located and recovered by police on July 27. Police have not provided any physical description of the suspects involved. If you have any information regarding this case, you are asked to call police at (301) 279-8000.

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a home in Laytonsville. The vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a home in the 21400 block of Laytonsville Road. It was reported stolen at 8:15 PM last night, August 3, 2023.

Car stolen from home in Germantown

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle in the Germantown Estates area. The vehicle was taken from the driveway of a home in the 18900 block of Shooting Star Court. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 9:40 PM on July 30, and 8:00 AM on July 31, 2023.

Car stolen in Germantown Town Center area

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle in the Germantown Town Center area. The vehicle was taken from a residential parking lot in the 19800 block of Century Boulevard. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between 8:00 PM on July 25, 2023, and 12:50 PM on July 26.

Car stolen from Gaithersburg apartment complex

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a Gaithersburg apartment complex. The vehicle was reported stolen from the parking lot of an apartment property in the 400 block of Girard Street. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between 6:00 PM July 7 and 11:06 AM July 8, 2023.

Car stolen in Germantown

Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle that was reported yesterday, July 5, 2023, in Germantown. The vehicle was reported stolen in the 19900 block of Aircraft Drive. It is believed the vehicle was stolen sometime between 11:00 PM Tuesday night and 8:00 AM Wednesday morning.

3 cars reported stolen in 1 hour in Montgomery Village

Montgomery County police are investigating three auto thefts reported in Montgomery Village within a single hour on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The first call to police came from an apartment building parking lot in the 20100 block of Rothbury Lane at 9:00 AM. A second stolen vehicle report came exactly half an hour later from a Park & Ride lot in the 20100 block of Swallow Point Road at 9:30 AM. Fifteen minutes later at 9:45 AM, another car was reported stolen from the parking lot of an apartment building in the 9600 block of Horizon Run Road.
