Armed robbery at CVS in Derwood


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a CVS Pharmacy in Derwood yesterday, May 12, 2026. The robbery took place at the CVS at 17651 Redland Road at 5:35 PM Tuesday. According to police, three suspects entered the store and attempted to shoplift merchandise. When the store manager confronted them, one of the suspects drew a knife and told the manager they would kill him. The three suspects then successfully fled the store with stolen merchandise.

Police have not released descriptions of the suspects. They did not indicate how the three avoided appearing on the many surveillance cameras inside the CVS. This was - yet again - another violent crime taking place during daylight hours, the latest trend in the six year Montgomery County crime wave.

Armed robbery in broad daylight in Montgomery Village


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in Montgomery Village yesterday afternoon, May 4, 2026. The robbery was reported at the intersection of Montgomery Village Avenue and Wightman Road at 3:52 PM Monday. According to police, two suspects attempted to take property from the victim. When the victim resisted, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and threatened him. 

The two suspects then attempted to escape by boarding a Ride On bus. However, the bus was stopped and not immediately departing. The botched escape gave police time to catch up and arrest the two suspects.

Armed robbery in broad daylight in Montgomery Village


Even lunchtime isn't safe anymore in Montgomery County. County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in Montgomery Village on March 23, 2026. The robbery was reported on an unspecified block of Apple Ridge Road at 12:40 PM. Police say two suspects approached the victim, and one of the two displayed a firearm. They took property from the adult male victim and fled on foot.

Police describe the suspects only as two Hispanic males of unknown age. If you have any information about this case, call police at (301) 279-8000. This continues the recent, disturbing trend of violent crimes being committed during broad daylight hours in Montgomery County.

Armed robbery at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg yesterday, March 23, 2026. The robbery was reported on Grand Corner Avenue at 12:30 PM. According to police, the victim was approached by two suspects who brandished a firearm and demanded his headphones. The victim complied, and the suspects fled on foot.

Police describe the suspects only as two juveniles. It was not explained how they managed to evade the many surveillance cameras in the vicinity. Another shocking daylight violent crime, a disturbing new trend in Montgomery County.

Attempted armed robbery in Montgomery Village


Montgomery County police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place in Montgomery Village on October 21, 2025. The incident was reported in the 19300 block of Keymar Way at 4:59 PM. An armed suspect displayed his weapon to the juvenile victim, and attempted to take property from him. Police did not explain why he was unsuccessful in doing so, but describe him as a Black male of unknown age. Armed robbery in Montgomery Village


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery of a food delivery driver in Montgomery Village on October 18, 2025. The driver was attempting to make a delivery in the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle at 7:15 PM when he was confronted by an unspecified number of suspects who indicated they were armed. They successfully obtained money from the victim, and fled the scene.

Armed robbery at Montgomery Village condo complex


Montgomery County police were called to a condominium complex in Montgomery Village last night, October 2, 2025, after an armed robbery was reported there. The robbery was reported in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive at 8:15 PM Thursday. The Breckenridge Condominiums are located on that block of Boysenberry.

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in Montgomery Village last Friday night, September 26, 2025. The robbery was reported along the street in the 18200 block of Contour Road at 7:08 PM Friday. That is in the vicinity of the high crime Lost Knife Circle area. The weapon utilized in the robbery was not a gun, police report.

Police arrest suspect in stabbing, armed robbery in Clarksburg


When did Clarksburg become such a dangerous place? Montgomery County police have arrested a suspect in Monday night's stabbing and armed robbery incident in the 22700 block of Clarksburg Road. Police were called to the scene of a stabbing there at 8:50 PM Monday. The victim was suffering from at least one stab wound, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Before being transported to a local hospital, the victim told officers that he and a friend were approached from behind by an unidentified male suspect, who tried to steal property from them.

When the two fought back, the suspect drew a knife and stabbed one of the them. Police used a drone to search the area, and located the suspect.  Alexis Alfaro, 16, of Silver Spring was arrested without incident, police say. He has been charged as an adult in the case. Alfaro was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.

Armed robbery in Kentlands area of Gaithersburg


Gaithersburg City police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the Kentlands area of Gaithersburg early Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025. The robbery was reported in the 100 block of Kentlands Boulevard at 1:15 AM Tuesday. It took place in a parking lot. At least one individual was also accused of aggravated assault in the incident.

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery last night, August 13, 2025, in Germantown. The robbery was reported on Sweetgum Circle at 6:08 PM Wednesday. That is a residential street off of Father Hurley Boulevard. A firearm was the weapon employed in the robbery.

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery on a residential street in Gaithersburg Wednesday afternoon, August 6, 2025. The robbery was reported in the 100 block of Gold Kettle Drive at 4:36 PM. That is a townhome community between Sam Eig Highway and Muddy Branch Road. A knife was the weapon used in the robbery.

Armed robbery of food delivery driver in Germantown


A food delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Germantown in the early morning hours of June 8, 2025, Montgomery County police allege. The adult male driver was in the 13400 block of Daventry Way to make a delivery when he was approached by two male suspects. One of the two suspects displayed a weapon, and they stole food from the driver.

Armed robbery at Del Mar Latin Food restaurant in Germantown


Del Mar Latin Food has only been open for a couple of months at 18058 Mateny Road at Cloppers Mill Village in Germantown. But it has already gotten a sample of Montgomery County's ongoing violent crime wave, one that has persisted since the summer of 2020. Montgomery County police report that two suspects entered the restaurant at 2:38 PM on May 28, 2025. One of them displayed a handgun, before both men proceeded to assault an adult male employee, and flee with money.

Armed robbery in Montgomery Village


Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in a Montgomery Village industrial park on April 26, 2025. At 5:48 PM that afternoon, the adult male victim was confronted by two suspects in the 18800 block of Woodfield Road, directly adjacent to the Montgomery County Airpark. One suspect displayed an unspecified weapon, and demanded cash from the victim. The two suspects then fled the scene with the stolen money.

Police describe the weapon-wielding suspect only as a White male of unknown age. They report that no description of the accomplice is available at this time. Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the Stewartown area of Gaithersburg late Saturday night, April 5, 2025. The robbery was reported in the 9100 block of Turtle Dove Lane at 11:11 PM Saturday. That is in a townhome community between Goshen Road and Snouffer School Road.

Suspect arrested for armed robbery at CVS Pharmacy in Germantown


Montgomery County police have arrested a suspect in the February 28, 2025 armed robbery of a CVS Pharmacy in Germantown. The robbery was reported at 9:30 AM that morning at the CVS store at 19901 Frederick Road. According to police, the suspect displayed a weapon and stole merchandise from the store before fleeing. The type of weapon utilized has not been identified by police.

Police have arrested Leon Budd, 38, of Gaithersburg. Maryland court records indicate Budd has been charged with felony robbery, 2nd-degree assault, and theft under $1500. He is being held without bond. A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for March 28 in Montgomery County District Court in Rockville.

Armed robbery at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg


Gaithersburg City police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg Monday evening, February 17, 2025. The robbery was reported along the street in the 200 block of Boardwalk Place at 7:27 PM Monday. That is the first block of Boardwalk that extends out from the movie theater building entrance. A weapon other than a firearm was employed in the robbery.

Attempted armed robbery in Montgomery Village


Montgomery County police are searching for suspects in the November 25 attempted armed robbery of a man in Montgomery Village. The botched robbery attempt took place in "the early morning hours" at the intersection of Boysenberry Drive and Hellingly Place. Two male suspects displayed a weapon, and assaulted the adult male victim. They were unsuccessful in obtaining property from the victim, however.
