Montgomery County police arrest 2 in Germantown grocery store shooting

Montgomery County police have arrested two suspects in the March 20, 2026 shooting inside a grocery store in Germantown. One person was wounded in the shooting, which took place inside the Giant supermarket at 18331 Leaman Farm Road at 8:40 PM. Both suspects were armed, police say, and one of them fired multiple shots inside the store while chasing the victim.

Marcus Isaiah Jovon Braithwaite, 19, of Germantown and Demba Tandia, 16, of Montgomery Village have been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime. Braithwaite is being held at the County jail pending a bond hearing. Tandia was located in Sterling, Virginia, and is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County. Police have released surveillance camera footage of the incident.

Clarksburg shooting leaves 2 victims seriously injured

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a shooting in Clarksburg at 10:52 AM this morning. The shooting was reported in the 13220 block of Catawba Manor Way. Officers responding to the scene found two male victims suffering from serious injuries. No suspect is in custody at this time, police say.

Strong-arm robbery in Montgomery Village

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in Montgomery Village yesterday afternoon, March 29, 2026. The robbery was reported in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road at 2:31 PM Sunday. According to police, two suspects physically blocked a vehicle. Assaulting the driver, they ripped his watch off his wrist and fled on foot. Police have not released a description of either suspect.

Teen stabbed aboard bus in Germantown

A teenage boy was stabbed during an altercation that began on a bus in Germantown Tuesday night, March 24, 2026. The 14-year-old victim was involved in an argument aboard the bus with a group of juveniles known to him that turned violent. He suffered a single stab wound, and managed to walk to a nearby grocery store, where he called 911 at 8:13 PM. The boy was transported to a local hospital, where police say his wound was determined to be non-life-threatening. 

Montgomery County police officers combed the nearby area, and located the alleged knife-wielding assailant. The 16-year-old suspect was arrested. Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident, but that there is no further danger to the community.

Police officer shoots alleged gunman who fired at cops in Montgomery Village

A Montgomery County police officer shot an alleged gunman who police say fired two shots at officers first in Montgomery Village yesterday, March 24, 2026. The officers were proactively patrolling in the high crime area of Lost Knife Circle Tuesday afternoon. While in the vicinity of Montgomery Village Plaza on Contour Road, they observed suspicious activity, and approached an adult male suspect to investigate. The suspect took off running, and attempted to seek refuge in an apartment complex on Lost Knife.

As officers turned a corner at the complex in pursuit, the suspect allegedly fired two shots at them. One County officer returned fire, striking the suspect. They provided first aid to the suspect, who was then transported to a local hospital in stable condition. He is expected to survive. 

Officers recovered a handgun at the scene. No injuries were reported beyond the suspect. The officer who fired the shots has been placed on administrative leave, and the Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation into the shooting. Police said this is an active and ongoing investigation, and that the suspect’s identity and charges will be released when they become available.

Aggravated assault at gas station in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an aggravated assault at a gas station in Germantown on March 6, 2026. The assault took place at the Exxon station at 21101 Frederick Road at 8:23 PM. Three suspects displayed an unspecified weapon, and physically assaulted the victim.

Suspicious activity in Montgomery Village leads to arrest of two

Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village is one of the highest crime addresses in Montgomery County, so it's good to hear County police were "conducting proactive enforcement" in that area this past Monday evening, March 9, 2026. Around 7:00 PM, officers observed suspicious activity involving a vehicle parked outside of an unspecified commercial establishment on Lost Knife. They quietly pursued the vehicle, and when the driver made a moving violation, conducted a traffic stop in the 17500 block of Towne Crest Drive. 

Searching the vehicle, officers allegedly recovered a firearm and narcotics. 78-year-old James Curtis Avant, of Bowie, and 29-year-old D’Andre Michael Wiggins, of Germantown, were arrested and charged with multiple drug and handgun-related offenses. 

Assault at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg

Montgomery County police were called to the Rio Lakefront development Saturday afternoon, March 7, 2026, after someone was allegedly assaulted there. The assault was reported in the unit block of Grand Corner Avenue at 2:40 PM Saturday. It took place in a parking lot on that block. Another shocking broad daylight violent crime brought to you by the pro-criminal, anti-police Montgomery County Council. Heckuva job, Brownie!

Motorcycle stolen from home in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a stolen motorcycle in Germantown on February 20, 2026. The motorcycle was stolen from a residential parking lot in the 18200 block of Smoke House Court sometime between 10:00 PM on February 19, and 4:20 AM on February 20, police believe. That is at the Pleasant Fields townhome community off of Mateny Road.

Police called after assault at school in Clarksburg

Montgomery County police were called to a school in Clarksburg Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2026, after a 2nd-degree assault was reported there. The assault was reported at a school in the 22400 block of Brick Haven Way at 2:55 PM Tuesday. Rocky Hill Middle School is located at 22401 Brick Haven Way.

Indecent exposure in Montgomery Village

Montgomery County police responded to a report of indecent exposure in Montgomery Village early Sunday morning, February 22, 2026. The incident was reported in the 20000 block of Goshen Road at 12:01 AM Sunday. An individual was also accused of assault in the same incident.

Assault at apartment complex in Germantown

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at an apartment complex in Germantown on February 14, 2026. The assault was reported in the 12900 block of Falling Water Circle at 7:49 AM. It took place in the parking lot. That is the location of the Acclaim at Germantown apartments.

Clarksburg Banana Republic employee accused of videotaping women in dressing rooms

An employee of the Banana Republic Factory Store at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets mall has been arrested after several women reported seeing a cell phone video recording them in the dressing rooms of the store. Police say Fabio Delrio, 19, of Clarksburg was identified as the suspect after officers reviewed surveillance camera footage from the store, and discovered images of women in dressing rooms on his phone. Delrio also took pictures of women as they shopped in the store, police allege. They report that he is no longer employed at the store at this time.

Delrio has been charged with four counts of peeping Tom, four counts of visual surveillance with prurient intent in a private area, and other related charges. He is free on $5000 bond.

The known peeping Tom incidents were recorded in the store's dressing rooms between May and August of 2025. T.J. MAXX shoplifting attempt goes sideways in Germantown

An alleged attempt to steal merchandise from T.J. MAXX in Germantown went sideways on February 4, 2026, according to Montgomery County police. The male suspect attempted to leave the store at the Milestone Shopping Center with merchandise he hadn't paid for, police say, but was taken into custody by an officer. He was found to also be in possession of a loaded firearm.

Ian Morgan, 21, of Germantown, has been charged with theft, obstruction, loaded handgun on person, possession of an unregistered rifle/shotgun, and possession of an assault weapon with the intent to sell it. He is being held without bond pending a March trial.

Pickpocket strikes at gym in Gaithersburg

Watch your wallet while working out in Gaithersburg! Gaithersburg City police were called to a fitness center in the 10100 block of Washingtonian Boulevard at 9:24 PM Saturday night, after someone's wallet was allegedly pilfered by a pickpocket. Police have not yet identified the gym, but Life Time is located at 10121 Washingtonian Boulevard.

Sex offense against child reported at park in Gaithersburg

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a sex offense allegedly committed against a child at a park in Gaithersburg on February 3, 2026. A child was allegedly fondled in the assault at a park in the 900 block of Beacon Square Court at 1:11 PM Tuesday. That is at the Beacon Place apartment complex in the Kentlands area.

Aggravated assault with firearm in Olde Towne Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg City police responded to a report of an aggravated assault with a firearm in the Olde Towne area on January 31, 2026. The assault was reported in the 300 block of E. Diamond Avenue at 12:50 PM. That's about a block from the train station.

Clarksburg equipment rental business burglarized

Montgomery County police responded to a burglar alarm at a Clarksburg equipment rental business in the early morning hours of January 22, 2026. The burglary was at Rentals Unlimited at 24000 Frederick Road. Officers responding to the scene found evidence of forced entry at the business. They determined property had been stolen from inside the facility, which supplies rental equipment for landscaping and construction work, and is highly-rated in online reviews.

Police nab suspect as knife-wielding peeping Tom prowls Gaithersburg neighborhoods

Montgomery County police have arrested a suspect in a series of peeping Tom incidents in Gaithersburg and Derwood. Steven Jarezz Adams, 32, of Silver Spring has been charged with indecent exposure, trespassing, first-degree assault and related charges. For over a month, authorities say, he stalked families, exposed himself, and even jabbed a knife at a resident who confronted him. He is being held without bond at the County jail.

Here's how events unfolded, according to the timeline released by detectives:

It started on Christmas Eve—December 24, 2025, around 3:46 a.m. A woman inside her home in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane in Gaithersburg looked toward her sliding glass door and saw Adams exposing himself right there, staring in at her. He fled into the night, leaving her shaken.

Then, on January 7, 2026, he struck twice in the same area. At about 6:40 p.m., another woman in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane spotted a shadow at her window. She pulled back the blinds—and there was Adams. He took off when confronted.

Later that same night, around 10:30 p.m., a neighbor in the 17700 block of Silkcotton Way saw Adams shining a flashlight through the sliding glass door of a home, peering inside before vanishing.

The escalation came on January 15, 2026, about 7:05 p.m. A man in the 8300 block of McCullough Lane got a motion alert from his patio security camera. He went outside to check—and confronted Adams face-to-face. That's when Adams allegedly pulled a knife and swung it at the victim before running off. This wasn't just voyeurism anymore. This was a dangerous assault.

Investigators dug in. They identified Adams as the suspect and discovered he had a prior arrest for peeping tom incidents back in 2022. With that history staring them in the face, detectives secured an arrest warrant.

The takedown came on January 20, 2026, around 7:30 p.m. Detectives spotted Adams heading to the rear of a multi-level apartment complex in the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard in Derwood. Using the department's Air Support Unit drone, they watched from a safe distance as Adams moved from window to window and door to door, looking in and exposing himself again.

When officers from the 1st, 5th, and 6th District Special Assignment Teams moved in to make the arrest, Adams bolted. But it was a short chase. They caught him, cuffed him, and took him straight to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

Shooting at Gaithersburg McDonald's

Gaithersburg City police are investigating a shooting that took place at the McDonald's restaurant at 465 N. Frederick Avenue last night, January 19, 2026. Officers from the City and Montgomery County police responded to a report of a shooting there at 7:08 PM Monday. They found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital, where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. 

Police refer to there being multiple suspects in the shooting, who fled the scene and remain at large.
