The City of Gaithersburg has announced that the compost drop-off at the Rabbitt Road public works facility is closed. Bulk pickups and loose leaf collection by the City has been suspended. City parks remain open to the public, but are only to be used for "dog walking and outdoor de-stressing;" playground equipment is not to be used. Park users must stay 6 feet away from other people in the park, and no more than 10 people may be in fenced-in areas of parks.
Gaithersburg's Mayor and Council are discussing turning their April 20 regular meeting into a virtual meeting the public may view online. They will release details at a later date.
