Signage installed at Charleys Philly Steaks inside Walmart in Germantown
The signs are up at Charleys Philly Steaks inside the Walmart at 20910 Frederick Road in Germantown. It was sad to see one of the best restaurants in the world, McDonald's, leave the store. But the sandwiches at Charleys are much bigger, and may be perfect after working up an appetite pushing your shopping cart up and down the aisles of Walmart. Columbus, Ohio-based Charleys has also added this location to its website, and has indicated what the operating hours will be.

Charleys Cheesesteaks to take over vacant McDonald's space at Walmart in Germantown
This story has been hard to track down, but there is finally going to be a replacement restaurant at the Walmart in Germantown. A source tells me Charleys Cheesesteaks will fill the vacant McDonald's space at the front of the big box store at 20910 Frederick Road, in the Milestone Shopping Center. That space is currently being used as storage by Walmart.

The Columbus, Ohio-based Charleys has two existing locations in Montgomery County, at Montgomery Mall and Wheaton Plaza. If you've dined there, you know they also specialized in loaded fries, and have limited-edition cheesesteaks throughout the year. Now upcounty residents will finally have a Charleys of their own. The new restaurant is expected to open this summer.
