Strong-arm robbery in Parklands area of Gaithersburg

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in the Parklands area of Gaithersburg yesterday morning. The robbery took place along the street in broad daylight in the 600 block of Watkins Mill Road at 10:30 AM, according to crime data. That's right near the I-270 interchange, on the west side of the highway.

Remember when we were promised a vibrant town center at Parkview, with shops, restaurants and a movie theater, all within walking distance of the new homes? Betrayed by the County Council!

  1. Could you expand on this? "Betrayed by the County Council"

    1. I'm delighted to. The County Council promised this development would have a walkable town center, as it did with Clarksburg. Neither town center has been built nearly two decades later. Several councilmembers were endorsed by the developer at Parklands, who placed signs for their campaigns along I-270. If that's not betrayal by the County Council, I don't know what is.
