Purse snatching in Germantown
Montgomery County police responded to a report of a forcible purse snatching in Germantown early yesterday morning. The purse was snatched on Seneca Crossing Drive around 12:15 AM Thursday morning, according to crime data.

Another assault at Rio Lakefront
City of Gaithersburg police responded to a report of a second-degree assault at Rio Lakefront Tuesday night. This is the third assault reported this year at the popular shopping and dining destination. Tuesday's assault was reported in the 200 block of Boardwalk Place around 7:00 PM, according to crime data.

Germantown Target to add grocery pickup area
The Milestone Target store at 20908 Frederick Road in Germantown will remodel a small part of its interior to address the increased demand for grocery pickup. In addition to rearranging space, existing storage for grocery pickup orders will also be updated. Store operations will not be affected by the work.

Marshalls "coming soon" at Gaithersburg Square
Department stores tend to be going, rather than coming, to American cities these days. So the announcement that Marshalls was coming to Gaithersburg Square last year was reason for some celebration among Gaithersburg shoppers. Now, the budget-minded department store chain wants us to know Marshalls isn't just coming, but coming soon, and has posted signage at the future location to this effect.

There are more "signs" of Vine Alley moving closer to opening at Kentlands Market Square in Gaithersburg. The bistro has applied for its liquor license. Its hearing date is April 15. Vine Alley is located at 114 Market Street.

Montgomery County police responded to a home in Germantown after an indecent exposure incident was reported in the yard there Wednesday morning. The incident was reported in the 20000 block of Sweetgum Circle around 8:55 AM, according to crime data.

Germantown Library to close for renovations next month
The Germantown Library at 19840 Century Boulevard will close next month for extensive renovations Montgomery County refers to as a "refresh." It will close on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 6:00 PM. The project is expected to take four months to complete. Patrons are being directed to public libraries in Gaithersburg, Quince Orchard and Damascus during the closure.
