Vine Alley, Brews & Barrels spaces marketed for lease at Kentlands Market Square


Kimco Realty is marketing the spaces currently occupied by Vine Alley and Brews & Barrels at Kentlands Market Square in Gaithersburg as "available" for lease. Both spaces have a notation that parties interested in leasing either storefront "do not disturb" the current tenants, who are still open for business. In addition, both businesses have been removed from the tenant roster in Kimco leasing materials for the property. Brews & Barrels opened at 625 Center Point Way in 2020, and Vine Alley opened two years later at 114 Market Street.

Is Best Buy planning an exit in Gaithersburg?


Is Best Buy's future at 15750 Shady Grove Road at the 270 Center in doubt? It sure looks like it from an online listing for the 270 Center. The big box store's "big box" is available for lease, according to the KLNB listing. Whoever the lucky next tenant is will be able to move into the 46,155-square-foot space on February 1, 2025. 

Best Buy announced on a corporate earnings call that it planned to close 10 to 15 stores in 2025. This one on the border of Rockville and Gaithersburg now appears to be one of them. Rockville has a venerable Best Buy store located at 1200 Rockville Pike. Living in the 90s!

Don Jorge's Restaurant building for lease in Gaithersburg


The building currently housing Don Jorge's Restaurant at 108 E. Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg is being marketed for lease. Don Jorge's is still open for business, and its lease runs through May 2024. The property owner is now seeking prospective tenants for that time. It's a prime location at E. Diamond Avenue and Russell Avenue in Olde Towne Gaithersburg.

North Pointe at Flower Hill shopping center begins leasing in Gaithersburg


North Pointe at Flower Hill
, a new shopping center development expected to deliver this fall at 18251 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg, has begun leasing. An anchor restaurant tenant space includes a rooftop dining area, and an outdoor dining patio, It and a second restaurant space have end cap locations. Pettit Management services is handling the leasing for the center, and can be reached at 301-975-1020.

Space available for lease in historic Druid Theater in Damascus


Space is now available for lease in one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Montgomery County. A 3900 square foot second-floor space in the Druid Theater at 9840 Main Street in Damascus is now being marketed by Taylor Properties. According to the online listing, the space can be yours for $4550 a month, if my calculation (rent is $14 per SF per year) is correct. 

Built in 1947, the movie palace shuttered in 1990, and sadly is now a Rite Aid drug store on the ground floor. I'd like to see this architectural treasure restored to an operating movie theater someday.
